Below you’ll find the Great Danes currently available for adoption through Great Dane Rescue of Minnesota & Wisconsin.
Some are young and full of energy. Others are seasoned couch potatoes. Some need a little extra patience, structure, or a very specific home to help them thrive.
But every single one deserves the same thing: a forever home that’s the right fit.
A Little Something About Our Adoption Process…
We do things a little differently around here, and we’re pretty proud of that!
We don’t match dogs with families based on who applies first, who wants a particular color, or who falls in love with the cutest photo.
We take the time to get to know our Danes, their personalities, needs, and quirks, and work to match them with families where they’ll thrive.
Because finding the RIGHT home matters more than finding the FIRST home.
You can express interest in up to three dogs on your adoption application. Just keep in mind that some dogs may already have applications under review, meet-and-greets scheduled, or adoptions pending.
Submitting an application doesn’t guarantee a particular dog, but it does get the process started!

We can’t emphasize this enough!
Some of our most successful adoptions happen because a family has already completed the approval process before the right dog comes along.
When a new Dane enters rescue, we can consider families who are already approved and ready to welcome a dog into their home.
So whether you’re looking for a young, energetic goofball or a laid-back companion who takes their napping responsibilities very seriously, we encourage you to apply even if your future best friend isn’t listed yet.
And if there aren’t any dogs showing below? That simply means we don’t currently have any listed as available for adoption. Check back!

Not Ready to Adopt? Consider Fostering!
Maybe you’re not quite ready for a forever commitment, but you’ve got some extra love (and couch space) to share.
Fostering is one of the most meaningful ways to help our rescue. Every foster home gives a Great Dane a safe place to land while we work toward finding their forever family.
And sometimes, that temporary houseguest turns out to be your forever dog. We call those foster fails, and we’re certainly not complaining. 😉
