GDROMN- RESCUE

The Great Dane Rescue of Minnesota & Wisconsin is an all-volunteer rescue devoted to rehoming Great Danes in MN & WI, with an on-site sanctuary for unadoptable Danes to live out their lives .

OUR RESCUE MISSION is the care and re-homing of purebred Great Danes. When Great Danes are surrendered into our program, we find them experienced foster homes who work diligently on overcoming the stress and anxieties that come with being surrendered.

Donate

Our rescue and our sanctuary run solely off of donations. Between the food, veterinary bills, the Sanctuary itself, payroll, etc it takes a lot of money to keep the rescue working. Show your support!

Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of any rescue program. Without volunteers a rescue will not succeed. Whether it is an hour a month or several hours a day you can donate, there is a job waiting for you.

Foster

The goal of fostering is to save the life of a Dane. Fosters open their homes and hearts to keep a Great Dane in a healthy, caring environment for a short period of time until a forever home can be found.

The Great Dane Sanctuary

The Great Dane Sanctuary is a place for unadoptable pure bred Great Danes to live out their lives in a safe, secure, happy, healthy and loving environment being cared for until their very last day.

The Danes that come up to the Sanctuary are un-adoptable due to temperament, illness, and/or old age. Some of the dogs have been court ordered to be euthanized or come to our farm, others would have been euthanized by their owners because they had no other choice.

It is the only sanctuary of its kind in the U.S. and accepts dogs from all over the country.

Surrender

We are here to make sure that it’s next forever home is it’s last. We do full background checks on all of our fosters and adoptive homes, we conduct a home visit to ensure their home is safe and ready for a dane. But most of all we offer support to our foster and adoptive homes to help train, help heal, help gain life from these dogs.
